sculpture #1& #2.   Historical context times of turmoil and the soul of

Slava Borecki

The sculpture depicts the situation of the Church through the figure of Pope Innocent III, who was the first to declare himself the mediator between God and people, strengthening his power and enriching the Church while distorting the fundamental doctrines of Jesus.

St Francis sitting surounded by animals, from which I picked up a wolf, a deer and birds.

The choice of animals is symbolic and rather classical: St. Francis liked to talk to birds, and the wolf and the deer are embraced by the peace in his presence.

Sculpture #3 & #4     Today's world situation and the state of creation
Enguerrand David

Wounded Creation The earth has dried, the forest has burned, and the tools of what humanity once called progress: a tractor, a barrel, a few scattered objects - have cracked in the same way as the land that once sustained them. Nothing moves. Time is no longer measured through human presence; what remains is only the trace of what we believed we controlled. The wound is no longer carried by human bodies, but by the ground itself - a landscape emptied, fractured, and left behind by the very species that exhausted it.

I want to represent a new way of living

The possible change we can do.

It is about Us/We not about individuals.

We need to learn about all belonging to life on this planet. My well being is coming with everybody’s good living.

As Destructions impact the whole world, good feeling expands too.

It is about interconnections of all beings in life. We need to move to an “inner ecological sustainable” harmonic way of thinking , acting feeling ,.

As the butterfly wing effect , it will be contagious with your neighbour .. his neighbour..

It will be represented by a woman who embodies  kindness forgiveness empathy caring connecting feelings

The centre tree is the  interconnection of life like the forest as one body.

unconditional love

Love transcends every division, every barrier.

There is no species, territory, religion.

sculpture #8                            Sister water Brother fire
Charlotte Oster

Hearted in the sculpture is the warmth water playful around.

St. Francis stands calm and serene, quietly observing the dance of the two elements ..water

pops out of the water level high and low...sometimes you only see the head of the wave as a

ball...the waves seem to dance around Fransiscus....in his right hand he holds a cup with fire and his left hand he gently touches the area on his chest where his heart finds joy. ( a gentile gesture of connection )

When I look at sculptures or pictures the audio of what is depicted gets filled in by my brain..the trickle of water, the whisper of flame, and even the quietness of the serene man...many artists know that sensation. I hope that in this sculpture, the waterfall, water, the small bowl of fire and the enchanted man will communicate in that way also. I hope that this sculpture will evoke this feeling in the spectator also.

sculpture #9                          Mother Sister Earth
Nicola Wood

This sculpture embodies the eternal cycle of life, birth, and renewal — a tribute to the nurturing, life-giving force of the Earth herself. The mother figure, entwined with roots and flowers, symbolizes the deep and sacred connection between humanity and nature. Her form cradles and feeds new life, reminding us that all creation is sustained by the same divine breath and the same soil from which we come.

The inspiration draws from Saint Francis of Assisi’s Canticle of the Creatures, which calls us to revere “Sister Mother Earth, who sustains and governs us.” The work interprets humility not as weakness, but as a profound recognition of our place within creation — close to the ground, dependent, and grateful.

Through the imagery of decomposition and renewal, the sculpture expresses the truth that all returns to the soil: from humus, life arises again. It invites viewers to reflect on the humility of existence — that in being lowly, close to the earth, we find our greatest dignity and harmony with the world that sustains us.

sculpture #10                Sitting with sister bodily death

Susanne Ruseler

She sits quietly beside Sister Death — not in fear, but in understanding.

Here, death is not an intruder but a companion. Her presence softens the noise of living, reminding us that every moment is finite, and therefore precious.

Around them, an arch of olive branches bends gently, offering peace, representing reconciliation — between what was, what is, and what must come. They remind us that forgiveness, like peace, is not granted by forgetting, but by understanding.

Above them, butterflies drift in quiet flight — fragile wings catching the light, symbols of transformation and the soul’s renewal.

To truly see life, one must sit with Sister Death —

to hold her hand without fear,

to forgive others, oneself, and the passage of time.

When we live with the awareness of death, life unfolds in its truest form.

Every breath, every touch, every moment gains weight and meaning.

In this meeting between life and death, peace and forgiveness,

we are invited to see with clearer eyes —

to live more purely,

and to love more deeply.

Sculpture #11                                     Wonder
Hanneke Supply
This work captures a figure pausing to gaze at nature with a sense of wonder. The sculpture invites viewers to reconnect with their inner child — the part that continues to marvel at the beauty and mystery of the natural world. Through its gentle form and expression, The Child Within reflects on curiosity, innocence, and the enduring bond between people and nature.

About the wise men/ kings( or men and woman ) I would like to portray them in a classical fashion and each one represents a wisdom of science that gives their gifts to the newborn child which represents hope and salvation. One gives the wisdom of sociology, the cooporation of people and peace One gives the science of ecology with the wisdom of nature And one gives the wisdom of climatology about meteorologic processes and oceanography I want to show these fields of wisdom with decoration on their clothing and in the form of the gifts that they are giving.
